FLUSH Co-Founder, Ryan Mateer has a vision.

When Kiwi-Californian Ryan Mateer dreams, he dreams big. Ryan has an impeccable eye for detail in the work that he does.

After spending countless hours on premium remodels and new construction projects in the residential and commercial space, Ryan noticed an inconsistency in the products available in the market. Ryan's clients were spending six and seven figures on building residential and commercial masterpieces.  They would spend countless hours considering decisions on design, paint, lighting layouts, you name it.  Every detail needed to be discussed, confirmed, spec'd, and reconfirmed.

As one of southern California's leading Electricians, Ryan prided himself on being able to source modern, unique solutions to have his client's jobs stand out from the rest. Never one to compromise, Ryan was always steering contractors, interior designers, and mechanical engineers in to cutting edge solutions for highly sophisticated smart homes.

Bathroom remodels were a particular specialty, where all finishes and layouts were thoughtfully considered. One of the most prominent features in a quality bathroom build is a ventilation fan. While there are many types available on the market, Ryan always opted to spec a premium option, where quieter is better.

Ryan thought, "The fan's job is to cycle the air to keep the bathroom fresh, not to make itself noticed.  The best fans are the ones you don't realize are there."  So when he would install one of these fans in a client's bathroom, he was taken aback by the fan covers that came stock with the fan.

"Here is a fan that cost hundreds of dollars, meant to go in a bathroom that costs thousands, and the cover is a cheap plastic piece that sticks out like a sore thumb."  The covers, he realized, were the same whether they were meant to go in the cheapest application, or the most luxurious, regardless of the style of the architecture.

That's when the idea for Flush™ was born. Ryan thought to himself, how could a streamlined fan cover worthy of his client's expectations be built to be long lasting, highly stylish, and be adjustable to sit entirely flush with the drywall surrounding it, so it became virtually invisible while providing its much needed functionality.

This is an amazing solution to an age old headache builders have encountered for years. We will be happily installing these on all of our projects. Thank you for solving a problem the industry has missed!

I have been looking for flush-mounted options for my remodels for years. Most are over 200 bucks. This is a cool product and a great story.

Ranch Machine Design

They look expensive… how much do they cost?

This is incredible! I have bit seen HVAC registers that are this clean and simple, along with being affordable that sit flush with the drywall! Most have frames and screws! When and where can I buy these things?!!!
